The Galaxy S23 is here but that doesn’t mean you need to ditch the Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S21. In fact, now more than ever you’ll want protection with a good case. Because of Galaxy S21 comes in three sizesYou will need to make sure that you get a case designed specifically for your specific model. the S21 Ultra Featuring a 6.8 inch screen and heavier build – cases with built in kickstands are a good choice for this big boy. the S21 Plus It’s slightly smaller at 6.7 inches, instead s 21 Even smaller than 6.2 inches. But no matter which model you have, we’ve rounded up the best S21, S21, and S21 Ultra case options available.
Note that some of the recommendations for these Galaxy S21 series cases are based on my experience using nearly identical models with previous Galaxy smartphones, as well as iPhone. When multiple products are offered, the price listed is the starting price for the item. Make sure you’re buying the case and tempered glass that matches your S21 model — Ultra, Plus, or Standard.

Case leader Speck is bringing a selection of protective case options to the Galaxy S21, including (from left to right in the image above) Presidio Perfect-Clear, Presidio Perfect-Mist, Presidio Perfect-Clear Ombre, and Presidio2 Grip. They also have cases for the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy S7, S8, S9, and S10.
All new models have very good drop protection (from 13 to 16 feet, depending on the model) as well as Speck’s Microban antimicrobial coating. Cases start around $40 in various color options, and can sometimes be found on sale for even less.

You are receiving price alerts for the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Series
If you’re looking for a cheap clear case for the new Galaxy S21, Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid is a good value. I like the Ultra Hybrid S (pictured left), which has a built-in kickstand.
No rating is listed for this Samsung phone case, but Spigen’s clear cases seem to offer reasonable protection. If you want a tough case with decent protection, Spigen’s Strong armor case (right in the photo) is an option and also has a built-in kickstand. Note that many of these cheaper clear cases usually turn yellow and degrade over time, making them less transparent. But it’s cheap enough that you probably won’t mind paying for a replacement if and when it happens. This Samsung Galaxy S21 case is made of TPU bumper and provides maximum protection with a precise cutout for the camera. The case material is polycarbonate and thermoplastic polyurethane.

You receive Samsung Leather Cover pricing alerts
Available in brown or black, the Samsung Leather Case provides a solid protective layer around the cameras while offering a nice leather feel the rest of the way. The skin doesn’t affect wireless charging or anything else, so you can display it on your phone and enjoy it without sacrificing anything. The soft leather cover does not add bulk to the phone and has good shock absorption.

You receive Samsung Clear Standing Cover pricing alerts
The Samsung Clear Standing Cover is nothing fancy but a clear, protective cover with a built-in kickstand. You can prop your phone horizontally or vertically with the stand, which feels sturdy (larger than Spigen’s built-in kickstand). I use this case regularly.
Clacker
I’ve recently become a fan of Clckr cases, which feature a built-in kickstand and grip strap that folds out and clicks into place on the back of your phone. Clckr only sells a holster strap attachment to clip onto the back of your phone or a case, but a holster with a built-in holster attachment is even better. S21 selection is currently limited (there’s only an apparent S21 and S21 Plus, not the S21 Ultra), but perhaps the options will expand over time.
The cases are not rugged but protective enough, with raised edges to protect the screen. The ones I’ve used with other phones have held up well over time.
With the stand clicked into place, you can use your device hands-free in portrait or landscape mode. Note that you can charge your phone wirelessly with this case, though you have to be extra careful about placing it in the correct spot on a wireless charging pad for it to work. New models have antimicrobial protection.

You receive price alerts for the OtterBox Commuter Series
The company’s ultra-protective Defender Series case is available for all Galaxy S21 models, but most people want something a little less bulky. I like the Symmetry series cases — they’re thin with chamfered edges, which makes them a good mix of style and protection. However, I liked the more protective Commuter series better, thanks to the handles on the back and sides, as well as the raised bezels on the front that should help protect your screen. The raised bezel acts as a screen protector to keep your screen scratch-free and the camera module gets the same treatment.
Armadillotec
You are receiving ArmadilloTek Vanguard Case price alerts
Sometimes you need more than a normal case, and while there are plenty of cases that claim “toughness,” there are only a few willing to back up that claim. ArmadilloTek’s Vanguard series is MIL STD 810G rated, which means it can withstand drops of up to 20 feet thanks to its multi-layered design and offers great camera lens protection. Even with those layers between the phone and the charger, one of which includes a retractable stand, this case still supports wireless charging.
Gear 4
British gear4 gearmaker, now owned by Zagg, makes the cases up there with OtterBox and Speck. They are all lined with D3O shock absorbent material and feature beveled edges to protect your phone. Shown here from left to right are Havana (10-foot fall protection), Denali (16-foot fall protection), Crystal Palace (13-foot fall protection), and Copenhagen (13-foot fall protection). They all use some recycled plastic in their construction, but Copenhagen, which is made from 52% plant-based materials, is the greenest.
Prices range from $30 to $50 for the high-end Denali, which is the Gear4 gearbox I probably love.

You are receiving price alerts for the ESR Kickstand case
Particularly with the two larger Galaxy S21 models, I find having a built-in kickstand to be a nice feature and the ESR kickstand case is about as affordable as it gets.

Cyrill is a sub-brand of Spigen and like Spigen, cans of them generally sell for less than $20. Cyrill doesn’t have quite the same selection for the Galaxy S21 as it does for the iPhone 12, but it does have some clear protective cases with floral designs (pictured right), as well as a Brick Matte Finish Bumper case, which has a soft-touch finish (in image on the left). It has a raised bezel on the back that provides some extra protection for the camera lens. The corners of the case also have a raised lip.

You receive price alerts for Otterbox Strada Via
Some people like having full screen protection, so they make do with a foldable case that covers the screen. Strada Via is a new folio case from Otterbox that has a soft-touch finish and stays closed thanks to a set of magnets. It also has a slot for storing a credit card or two. The only thing I didn’t like about it is that it doesn’t turn into a kickstand for viewing videos.

You receive price alerts for Mous Limitless 3.0
For the Galaxy S21, UK-based Mous makes a clear Clarity Lite case with anti-yellowing technology as well as a Limitless 3.0 case, which comes in a few different eye-catching styles (Aramid Fiber shown left). They’re all lined with AiroShock material, which the company says provides excellent protection in a slim design. They look sturdy and they all include a lifetime warranty.
Mous’ Limitless 3.0 cases are compatible with the company’s Limitless 3.0 accessories. This includes a wallet that sticks magnetically to the back of the phone case and a few mounts, one of which is a vent mount for your car.
It’s also worth noting that the Limitless 3.0 cases are the only cases I’ve seen that have a SIM card storage slot on the inside of the smartphone case for international travelers who would normally swap a SIM card.

You receive Lifeproof Wake price alerts
Lifeproof’s Wake case is made from recycled ocean plastic. It’s attractively designed but I wouldn’t call it super sturdy – it’s unlocked on the bottom and has 6-foot drop protection. (Note that some of the cases on this list have higher drop protection ratings.)
